Ack! In less than five hours, I’ll be fortunate enough to see Avengers: Age of Ultron… and I have yet to do my homework! A few days ago, I vowed to finally finish 2012’s The Avengers, but I still can’t get myself to do it.

Still, I am excited about this sequel. My sister said she prefers it to the first one, and a friend said that even though she didn’t think it was very good, she thought it was really funny. And funny is all I need. The reason I can’t get myself to finish The Avengers is that somewhere during the big NYC battle, the movie stopped being funny and instead became too Cartoon Network for my taste.

With those comments about the funny in my head, I’m feeling a lot of good will toward Age of Ultron. I have to say, I’m quite excited! Below are the 5 things I’m most excited about.

This is so 2014, but I still can't wait to see which Quicksilver is better. Personally, I think I'll like Evan Peters more... (Photo courtesy of Marvel Studios)

5. Quicksilver battle

I still can’t get over the first season of American Horror Story, so I’m fiercely loyal to Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past. But, according to fans, Ultron Quicksilver is more true to the comics and it seems that he’ll be more of a minor major character rather than slightly more than an extra. So, you know, curiosity piqued. Plus, I love competition and I can’t wait to compare the two.

4. Back stories, love stories?

I have no idea if this is even a thing but, because I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a girly girl in the deepest crevices of my heart, I’m shipping these two. Will there be a Black Widow-Hawkeye back story? At the very least, it will give Jeremy Renner more to do. And we all deserve a bit more Renner, don’t we?

3. James Spader as Ultron

Because James Spader can do menacing like no other.

Self-explanatory, yes? If you need convincing, watch the videos below.

1. The funny banter

I loved their banter the first time around. A lot of it had to do with the characters familiarizing themselves with the others. Jokes about one another’s abilities, fanboying/fangirling, etc. With the intrigue of how they all got together now gone, I’m interested to see how they can maintain the humor. And based on what I’ve heard so far, I won’t be disappointed!
