March movies: The Movie Clubbers’ Top Picks

Two days ago, we shared with you the list of movies opening in Philippine cinemas this month. Today, in time for your movie-watching weekend, we’re helping you sift through that list and pick your favorites.

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (March 26)

Despite lukewarm reception of Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America’s story is my favorite of the Marvel superheroes. Plus, Chris Evans is perfect as Captain America. – Jen

2. Divergent (March 20)

This is a welcome teenage romantic sci-fi movie. – Jen

Shailene Woodley is a brilliant actress and that she chose to appear in a YA adaptation speaks volumes for Divergent. And let’s not even get started on the Kate Winslet of it all. – Joanna

3. Manny (March 12)

Say what you want about the man, but his success story still inspires and instills Pinoy Pride. Go Manny! – Jen

4. 300: Rise of an Empire (now showing)

Like with Gravity (but maybe less so), this is yet another excuse to go 3D and 3D only. – Joanna

5. Mr. Peabody & Sherman (now showing)

This is perfect feel-good movie that will give viewers enough good vibes for students’ final exams in late March. – Jo Ann

—–

6. Muppets Most Wanted (March 21, Ayala Cinemas exclusive)

Tina Fey, Ty Burrell, Ricky Gervais, and those adorable Muppets – Joanna

Schedules are subject to change without prior notice.
